The beginning stained glass class consists of three, 3 hour classes. Students will learn the coper foil technique while making 3 pieces - dragonfly, iris, and a mirror. Skills include cutting glass, grinding, foiling, framing, soldering, and finish & polishing. Classes are one-on-one and can happen whenever you and I can be at the shop at the same time.

Students will work with this space age glass while making a dichroic slab (2.5 x 1.5 inch) during class #1. Students will have a choice of black or a colored base. The slab will be capped with clear glass for a high shine. During class #2, student will "cold work" their slab into desired shapes. Average number of finished pieces include 2 pendants and a set of earrings. After cold working, pieces are fire polished with a later pick up.

Students learn the basic steps of wrapping a cabachon. Students will be instructed how to make a bails, coils, and how to harden wire. Discussions will be had on correct wire gage to use for desired outcome. Student may bring in a cabochon or one will be provided.

advanced class

This two class series will see students making at least two items. One will be a draped votive holder during class #1. Discussions will be had about glass compatability, firing schedules, layering, mold prep, and cold working.
